Lumen Artisan curios is a Barbados-based cultural storytelling and commerce brand. We shine a light on the folklore, language, food, places, humour, traditions and everyday memories that make Barbados Barbados.

To preserve and celebrate Barbadian culture through storytelling, original art, digital media and distinctive objects that connect people with the island's character.

Culture First

Lumen is not a generic souvenir shop. We begin with curiosity: a folk character, a saying, a childhood game or a detail from village life. We explore its story, interpret it through original art, and—when it feels right—make an object that lets you carry that story home.

Our Standard

We distinguish documented history, oral tradition, personal memory and creative Lumen interpretation. When stories have several versions, we say so. The goal is to approach Barbadian culture with warmth, imagination and respect.
